I am a writer, speaker and animation professional working in Shanghai.
I joined the rapidly developing Chinese animation industry 4 years ago to work as a designer, animator and storywriter for a 2D animation studio.
My next challenge was to drive the business development of an animation training school start-up (IACC), representing the company at international conferences, managing marketing, producing events and master classes and building a comprehensive network of contacts. Along the way I have been fortunate enough to teach and work closely with a series of world-class experts.
Observing an abundance of creativity but few stages on which for it to be shared, I founded the China Animation & Game Network, which has grown to become arguably Shanghai’s leading networking events organization for industry professionals. I manage, curate and host CAGN’s bi-monthly showcases.
In parallel to all of the above, I have been working with Animation World Network (AWN.com) on writing, interviewing, researching and network-building duties.
I work with international clients as a domestic industry consultant and have been invited to appear on TV talk shows, competition juries and to lecture at Central St Martins (London) and the Shanghai Institute of Visual Arts.
I love speaking to an audience, whether it’s hosting events, making presentations, pitching to clients or acting on stage. At the root of everything I do is a solid foundation of written and spoken English, and an appreciation of the value of engaging storytelling.
Last but not least, I am Club Manager and player for the mighty Shanghai Cosmos Football Club.
